The Password Manager is accessible from 2 locations: the Main Menu and the Toolbar.
To access the Main Menu, click on the Pocket Geek Privacy logo next to your browser’s navigation bar (top right).
If you can’t find the Toolbar, go in the Main Menu and check in your Settings, under Components. You might have chosen to hide it…
The Password Manager is symbolized by a key.
Tip
While both key icons open the Password Manager, the Toolbar is designed to show you at a glance the information relative to the website you are currently visiting and allow quick actions. The Main Menu gives you access to all the accounts you have in store.

Next to each icon is a circle with a number. The number next to the key icon tells you how many passwords have been saved for the website that you are currently visiting. Let’s say you are visiting acme.com, then the “1” means that there is 1 set of Acme login credentials stored and readily available in your Password Manager. |
To see the details of the account:
-
Position your mouse on top of the key → it turns orange and expands
-
Click on the circle with the number
The Password Manager opens up and displays every set of login credentials for the website you are currently on. Just one in our example.

Note
Login credentials = User ID + Password. The set is saved as an entity and can be retrieved together when you need to access an account. A User ID can be a lot of different things: a username, an email address, a phone number, etc.
You can manually add as many accounts as you wish. The Password Manager is also a vault and your passwords will be automatically protected (encrypted). This can be convenient when you are new to our product and want to store and protect your old passwords in your Manager as quickly as possible. To do this:
-
Click on the big orange button (bottom right) → it opens a pop-up
-
Enter the account information in the fields (Company/User ID/Password)
-
Click on “Save”
-
You can simply close the pop-up without saving to cancel
-
Position your mouse on the row corresponding to the account you wish to edit
-
Click on the
icon (at the end of the row on the right-hand side) -
A pop-up opens for you to edit and save your updated credentials
All your passwords are encrypted by default. If you want to temporarily decrypt (show) a password:
-
Check the box next to the Company for which you need the data
-
Click on the
icon -
When prompted, enter your Master Password
The password for this account is now readable (it has been temporarily decrypted and you can now see it “in the clear”).
To protect this password again, re-encrypt it by clicking on the icon.
Caution
Don’t worry, we always err on the side of caution, that’s why your decrypted passwords are automatically re-encrypted when the Password Manager closes.
Since the Password Manager can be used as a secured storage vault, we built-in a powerful search engine to help you find what you need easily.
You can use the filters to find your weak passwords and strengthen them. You can also go and assess your vulnerabilities when companies disclose a security breach.
Tip
The search feature cannot process encrypted data, which by default includes all passwords. To make your passwords searchable, make sure to temporarily decrypt (show) them first.
-
Check the box next to the company/account you decided to remove
-
Click on the
icon -
Confirm when prompted
Warning
Warning! When you delete a company from your Password Manager, the account(s) associated with it will not be stored in your Manager anymore, but it doesn’t mean that they are not still active. To remove your account from a company you are registered with, you need to contact them directly.
Here it goes again… You are on a website and you want to register an account. Nothing unusual really, but a new account means a new password, and a new password means either reusing an old, weak password as usual or coming up with a new one that will soon be forgotten… Unless you:
-
Click on the key in the Toolbar and then on the icon
That’s it! We generate a strong password for you and enter it in the password field. As easy as it sounds. You don’t even need to remember it because next time you need to log in you can simply retrieve them with Pocket Geek Privacy (see how below).
Some websites are quite picky about the kind of passwords they allow their users to register with. Fair enough, we’ve got you covered.
-
Click on the key in the Toolbar and then on the icon
-
Choose the sequence of characters that meets the requirements (length, symbols, uppercase letters, etc.)
You want to log into your account:
-
Go to the website
-
Click on the
icon.
You may then need to enter your Master Password (this is the prerequisite for your data to be truly safe—No way around it) and the appropriate data will be retrieved and entered in the field.
Caution
Your Master Password is a sequence of characters that you create and that you — and only you — know. It’s used to decrypt the sensitive data stored in your Managers. You are its only guardian, we truly have no access to it (and therefore can’t misuse it or put it at risk), so make sure to keep it safe and not lose it. The good news is this is the only password you now need to remember!
You can adapt your preferences regarding the Master Password from the security section of your Settings. Learn more
Tip
The actions above can all be done directly from the input fields on the website you are registering to or trying to log in. Yes, we designed an even easier way to generate and retrieve login credentials and it is hiding in plain sight in the Smartfield Icon.
