Poor credentials management is a leading cause of data breaches and identity theft. For example, saving your credentials in your browser, writing them down, sharing them with others, using easily recognizable or weak user IDs and passwords, reusing the same user IDs or passwords across websites and mobile apps, not changing them regularly or when you know they’ve been breached, can all put you at risk.
Note
Login credentials = User ID + Password. The set is saved as an entity and can be retrieved together when you need to access an account. A User ID can be a lot of different things: a username, an email address, a phone number, etc.
With Pocket Geek Privacy, your credentials are securely accessible and synchronized across all your devices. For example, store a set of credentials in the browser extension and you can immediately use it on the Android or iOS app, and vice versa.
When you first log in, you won’t have anything stored in your Password Manager.
Populating your Password Manager is easy.
There are three ways to save your credentials in the Password Manager:
-
Automatically – The extension can automatically save your credentials when you log in to sites. Try it, go to one of your favorite sites and log in. You’ll get a notification asking if you’d like the site’s credentials saved to the Password Manager.
-
Manually – Open the Password Manager, press the button in the bottom right of the screen, and manually enter a site’s credentials.
-
Import – You can import credentials, via the My Account page, from Chrome, Dashlane, LastPass or another Pocket Geek Privacy account.
To log in to a site, go to the login page and hover your mouse over the right side of the user ID field. You’ll see the blue Pocket Geek Privacy logo (Smartfield Icon), click on this and select the retrieve credentials menu item. When prompted, enter your Master Password. Your credentials will be securely retrieved. Click on the log in button.

Tip
Did you know that websites are changing all the time? We do. In fact, we’ve estimated that about 10% of companies change their login and registration pages every month. How do we know this? We run a powerful artificial intelligence engine behind the scenes to make sure the solution seamlessly works across all login and registration pages.
